Homework policy
My philosophy on homework is that it should not (and will not) ever be a form of punishment to any individual student or the class as a whole. I believe that homework should be used as an opportunity to practice the standards and skills being taught during the day. Remember, practice doesn't make perfect (nobody is perfect)...practice makes PERMANENT!
I will be asking that students PRACTICE their reading strategies and skills at home at least 100 minutes in a week. The more reading that we do, the better readers we become. You can find more information on this by downloading the monthly reading log. Students should also be getting one to take home as well.
Students will generally be given a math assignment each day during class after the daily math lesson which would then be due the next day. I like to give students some time to work on their math problems in class. Any problems that are not finished during this time would be considered homework.
Homework from other subjects will be given when necessary.
